South Africa.
Known by many as the "Rainbow Nation", the Republic of South Africa occupies
the Southern-most part of Africa, stretching from 22 to 35 South and from 17 to 33 degrees East.
Here you will find a world in one country where ancient and modern live side by side enjoying an
enormous wealth of cultural diversity, industry, history and wildlife. Meet Africa in all her glory,
stay in luxurious accommodation, taste rich exciting foods, breath in the African air and relax under
the African sun. With the Southern Cross as your companion, spend a warm summer evening enjoying a
sun-downer cocktail under the stars of an African sky.
Starting at the Southern most point of South Africa a visit to Cape Town, known as the “Mother City”,
and the Cape, described by Sir Francis Drake as "the most magnificent in the whole circumference of
the world", are must-see's. The Mother City is gateway to the enchanted world of the Garden Route
which stretches all the way to Port Elizabeth, the friendly city. Offering a forest and coastal wonderland,
this coastal route brings with it dreams of lost treasures, pirates and shipwrecks of years gone by.
The Garden Route is highly recommended for the wildlife, flora or bird enthusiast.
Continuing in an easterly direction along the coast you will find the relaxed beach holiday city of
Durban where the warm Indian Ocean, wonderful climate and exciting game sanctuaries are found.
Located inland, in the north-eastern side of South Africa, the breathtaking splendour of Mpumalanga
(the place where the sun rises) is found. It is here that famous Kruger National Park makes its home,
together with many world famous private game reserves, offering unrivalled wildlife encounters and
photographic opportunities. The area is home to the Big Five comprised of Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard
and Buffalo.
The throbbing hub and gold capital of the world, Johannesburg, is situated in the Gauteng province, the
financial heart of the country and gateway to Africa. The Jacaranda city and administrative capital, Pretoria
has a more sedate ambience than that of her neighbour Johannesburg and is dominated by the diplomatic corps of
foreign representatives in South Africa. Many buildings of historic and architectural importance make Pretoria
a "must see".
A short trip in a north westerly direction will bring you to the big five Pilansberg National Park with
its host of neighbouring game lodges and the famous Sun City - an oasis in the bushveld, host to prestigious
events like the Miss World, the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge and playground to a plethora of entertainment
and activities under the African sun.
Come and see South Africa and all her treasures!
